Eden Gardens State Park

What to know
Eden Gardens is a change of pace from the beach and town centers. The grounds include the Wesley House, moss-draped live oaks, ornamental gardens, a reflection pond, a short nature trail, and picnic areas near Tucker Bayou. The park is open from 8 a.m. until sunset every day and currently charges $4 per vehicle at an honor box. Bring exact change.
The house tour is optional and runs on a narrower schedule. Florida State Parks currently lists hourly tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday through Monday. Tours last about 30 to 45 minutes, are capped at 10 people, and are sold first come, first served. The current separate tour fee is $4 per adult and $2 per child under 12. Arrive early during the February through April busy period if the house is the main reason for the visit.
The grounds still work as a stop without a tour. Florida State Parks says camellias and azaleas can bloom from October through May, with a peak near March. Recent reviews repeatedly mention the old trees, shade, easy paths, and picnics by the bayou. Summer visitors also mention heat, so a morning visit and water make more sense than a long midday walk.
