Daniel Dunes frequently asked questions
Answers about the house, booking, beach access, pool, sleeping arrangements, and planning your stay.
How do we reserve Daniel Dunes?
Choose your dates on the booking page, add your group and contact details, then continue to secure checkout through OwnerRez. If you have a question first, send us a note from the same page. An inquiry does not reserve the house or require payment.
What is the cancellation policy?
The cancellation terms for your dates are shown before you complete checkout and are included in your booking agreement. Please review those terms before you pay, because they can vary by reservation.
Is there a minimum stay?
Minimum stays change with the season and the dates around your trip. The booking calendar will show the stays currently available for the dates you choose.
When will we receive confirmation?
After you complete the reservation, confirmation is sent to the email address you entered at checkout. Keep that message; it contains your reservation details and links to the information you will need before arrival.
Can we bring a pet?
No. We do not allow pets at Daniel Dunes.
Is smoking allowed?
No. Smoking is prohibited inside and outside Daniel Dunes.
Can we check in early?
Sometimes. Our cleaning crew lets us know as soon as the house is ready, and we will text or email you if we can welcome you before 4:00 PM. During busy weeks, the crew may need the full turnover window.
What time are check-in and checkout?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM and checkout is at 10:00 AM. Please ask before making plans around an earlier arrival or later departure; we can only confirm a change when the schedule allows it.
How do we get into the house?
Daniel Dunes has keyless entry. We send the address, directions, and your door-code instructions privately before arrival. Access codes are never posted on the public website.
How many cars fit in the driveway?
The driveway fits 4–6 cars. Our small subdivision also has extra parking in common-area spaces, available first come, first served.
Can the pool be heated?
Yes. Pool heat is available by request for an additional charge and can be added during the booking process or later. Ask before your arrival so we can confirm the timing and cost for your stay.
What linens and kitchen items are provided?
The house is prepared with bed linens and bath towels. The kitchen has cookware, dishes, glasses, and utensils for a full house. Your pre-arrival information will tell you what starter supplies are on hand so you know what to pack or buy.
Does the house have Wi-Fi and TVs?
Yes. Daniel Dunes has high-speed Wi-Fi, a TV in each bedroom, and TVs in both living areas. We send the network details privately before check-in.
What beach and water gear can we use?
We keep kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, life jackets, beach carts, boogie boards, beach chairs, and sand toys at the house for guests.
How are the bedrooms arranged?
There are two king suites on the top floor. The main level has one king bedroom and a bunk room with one twin-over-twin bunk and one queen-over-queen bunk. The separate in-law suite has a king bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa.
How far is the walk to the beach?
The walk from our front door to the beach access takes about 45 seconds. The route is flat, and there are no stairs or long boardwalk at the access.
Can we fish in the lake or Gulf?
Yes. Guests fish in the coastal dune lake behind the house and in the Gulf. A Florida fishing license may be required, so check the current state rules before you cast.
What is nearby?
Deer Lake State Park is just east of the house. Seaside is west, while Seacrest and Rosemary Beach are farther east along 30A. The Timpoochee Trail follows the corridor for biking and walking.
What is the lake behind Daniel Dunes?
It is an offshoot of Deer Lake, one of South Walton’s coastal dune lakes. Guests use the calm water behind the house for paddling and fishing when conditions allow.
Where should we buy groceries?
There are grocery stores and small markets along the 30A corridor. We recommend buying the first round of groceries before you settle in, especially if your group plans to cook at the house.
Where will we find our arrival details?
We send reservation-specific details through the email address and phone number attached to your booking. That is where you will receive directions, access instructions, and any updates from us.
What is the My Trip page?
My Trip is the public planning guide on this website. It brings together our house overview, beach-safety reminders, weather, and places to eat, shop, and explore. Private door and Wi-Fi codes are sent separately.
Who should we contact if something comes up?
For a question about the house or your reservation, use the contact details in your confirmation or send us a note through this site. For a medical, fire, or safety emergency, call 911 first.
